Christmas Poppet

Hello & Welcome to my blogging pages,

Today is TUESDAY!  My Tuesday's are usually busy, with shopping trips and meeting friends for morning coffee or sometimes lunch.  This week, I decided that it was time for change.  So, I'm relaxing today and pottering about doing bits and bobs around the house that I usually do on a Saturday or a Sunday.

The card I wish to share with you today is "Christmas Poppet".

I used a quality cream coloured 5x7 inch card and a piece of thick winter white coloured paper which had a glittered snowflake pattern scattered across it. I edged the snowflake paper with gold peel-offs to frame the card.  It then added a piece of paper which was decorated with Christmas Poinsettias and once again framed that with thin gold peel offs for the finishing touch.

I took my Prima Doll Fairy Wings Stamps by Julie Nutting and stamped a pair of wings onto some gold glittered adhesive paper using black coloured Archival Ink, and carefully stuck them onto some recycled card stock and cut them out with scissors.

For the dolly I used a Prima Doll Stamp by Julie Nutting and stamped the dolly shape out onto some rose pink and white patterned paper and also cut her out by hand with scissors.

I coloured her hair with a fine brown Sharpie pen, and then added dusky rose coloured shimmer highlights to her hair.  I made her "Alice Band" from the same gold paper that I used for her wings and shaded her body with a pale pink coloured Pro-Marker pen.

For her dress I used a rich red piece of paper and stamped the dolly out once more and cut it out by hand.  I highlighted the creases and folds in the dress with a gold shimmer felt tip pen.  I glued the dress to the dolly and left her to dry.

When the paper pieces were dry, I took the wings and mounted them onto the card with some double sided foam tape and then mounted the dolly against the wings using double sided foam tape.  I finished the card by adding the words "Happy Christmas" in gold peel off and decorating the dolly with green coloured crystal embellishments in her hair, around her neck and her ears.

I would like to add this card to the Crafty Calendar Challenge - All Things Christmas.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.
